The Piney Grove Missionary Baptist Church was established October 1885 under the first leadership of Pastor Harold “Hal” Solomon and 4 deacons. After 130 plus years Piney Grove is still standing and serving God on the same corner of Old Perry Rd, Solomon Rd, and Woodard Rd.

Our church is being led by the Holy Spirit in words and deed. On 1 May 2015, God placed our 22nd pastor with our church to serve. Since the arrival of Pastor Lonnie L. Slater our church has experienced great growth and improvements. Throughout Rev. Dr. Lonnie Slater’s years of service, he forges ahead to make our church biblically literate, socially conscious, relevant to this present age, and active in our community. We give God all the praise, glory, and honor.

The Piney Grove Missionary Baptist Church is affiliated with The Middle Georgia Orthodox Missionary Baptist Association, The General Missionary Baptist Convention of Georgia Inc., and as part of the Sixth District of Georgia where Pastor Slater serve as Vice-President and The National Baptist Association of America, Inc.
